My TikTok FYP is 80% ChatGPT 4o Image Generation content (the other 20% are Lebron James song parodies like this and this). Since the product announcement two days ago, I’ve been overwhelmed and wowed by its new capacity to create photorealistic images (the AI sheen is no longer an issue) and create accurate infographics drawing knowledge from its massive database. “We’re cooked” is the general sentiment in the comment section.
Generate a photorealistic image of farmer's market in toronto on a saturday in summer 2006, it's a beautiful late june day, people are shopping and eating sandwiches. in focus should be a young asian girl wearing denim overalls and sipping on a strawberry banana smoothie - rest can be blurred. the photo should be reminiscent of that a digital camera from 2006 would take, with a timestamp like a printed photo would have. aspect ratio should be 3:2
Rather than lament in the impending doom that AI will take all our jobs, I’m focusing on learning how to “make it my bitch” (as someone, who I probably shouldn’t name, told me). Which means I need to build my prompting muscle.
The same person also shared with me this Notion tutorial for making a “Prompts Database” where you can easily save, organize, and access prompt templates you come across online (like: 100 Prompts to Make Writing More Concise —I’ve clearly not used this yet). Now you have a list of prompts to use as exercises, see if you like them, tweak them, and use when needed.
In addition to saving prompt templates, I find it helpful to save prompt examples to create a repository of descriptions. Otherwise we’ll all end up with Studio Ghibli knock offs.1
Ever since my sister introduced me to Notion I’ve wanted to be a Notion-person. Apparently there’s a type. I don’t think I’m it. And yet, I figured out how to make this database (thanks to a semi-completed template provided). So I believe in you. Maybe watch the tutorial in 0.5x speed.
And once you notice that my posts are shorter, you’ll know I’ve actually started using it.
Nah, brevity is overrated!
